It only took twenty five years

I finally got my puppy! And she is my very first puppy. Sure we had a family dog growing up, lovable Benson, who we had for a good long time. Then while in high school my mom got her dog, Maggie, a Chihuahua who she still has. And then there is miss Faye, the daughter of Maggie we kept, who also lives with my parents, even though my mom has threatened to leave her with me on occassion.

But for the first time I have a dog. Now my husband has his, Havoc, who is five, and if you met him you eould agree he's the smartest dog you have ever met (unless of coarse you have met Lassie or some other canine star). But now we have Remington, aka Remy. We adopted her from a no kill puppy rescue, which you can check out at coloradopuppy.org We drove over an hour downtown and waited our turn patiently in line to meet and decide she was perfect for us. I can not put into words how happy I am to have her, and can not wait until we can start having adventures together.

His and Hers

Who need embroidered towels? We sure DON'T. If you don't find that funny, who are you? Anyways, I got these cute metal hooks, which look like BOOTS (another great word) and I hung them up on our living room wall to display/store my husband and I's spurs. And yes, I know one of mine is missing, I think it is under the back seat of my truck, I think...

something negative, something blue

there are a few things i am still getting used to out here, and may never will. 1. GIANT spiders that hide in the dirty laundry pile and scare the heeby jeebies outta me. 2. flies and flies and flies. and you know you have a lot when you are finding fly poop all over your walls and window sills. 3. rattlesnakes that bite our dog, and who knows who is next. my horse? me? a guest? hate them.

but there are things i love. 1. all my new friends. 2. being able to see every star in the sky at night. 3. the sound of nothing that comes with living in the country!

leavin' lonley town

the u-haul is in my possession. almost all loaded, but i am pulling a me, and procrastinating finishing the rest until...well, until i feel like it i guess.

today was my last day of work, and i am now officially unemployed for the second time in my 7 years of working in the "real world". i am kinda sad knowing i have no idea when my next pay check will be handed over to me. work was nice, said my good byes, and ceremoniously ripped up my last working apron on the front end. but i do have one apron left, the one all my friends and co workers signed for me. it is like a home depot year book page, full of love, hopes, and best wishes.

currently i am checking the weekend weather along the way. hopefully i will miss the high winds in grand junction they are predicting for tomorrow, and at least the weather in the Nevada desert is only going to be a 103 tomorrow.

only two days, and two wake ups until i see my husband. "cause I'm, leavin lonely town..." (luke bryan).

THE COUNTDOWN

Only four more days until I officially live in Northeastern Colorado. I am very excited to be moving, busy packing right now, and planning the route from California to Colorado, via Nevada, Arizona and Utah. Five states in two days. Two people, a dog, a truck and a small u-haul trailer. Should be a fun filled adventure in the least.
